Why take pictures, if nobody will ever see them? People don’t take photographs so they never have to look at something again — they take photographs so they can keep being amazed, intrigued, interested, even awed by certain visuals. And for that we use expositions.
But it doesn’t stop there. An exposition can show a sequence of images. It can tell a grand story by combining multiple small stories captured in single frames. And for that we use expositions.
In opdracht van DSM portretteerde ik de transformatie van de voormalige mijnstreek. Ik fotografeerde drie oud-medewerkers van De Staatsmijnen: een medewerker, een opzichter en een ingenieur. Zij wonen vijftig jaar of langer in hun huis. Ik fotografeerde hun interieurs.
