Every portrait is a collaboration. When I photograph buildings or historic interiors, I carry the sole responsibility for the result. I don’t expect a building to take on a different pose, chairs to give me some insightful feedback, or a window to smile in a lovely way.
But when I create a portrait, it becomes a cooperative endeavor towards a single goal: looking as good as possible (and exactly how we envisioned). We are a team. I strive to create this warm and collaborative atmosphere and always try to get the best out of my photo subjects. Because with their help, and their willingness, every portrait can become a masterpiece.
